This censoring of science is potentially dangerous for our species.

Even if the apparent global warming turns out to be just a natural fluctuation, do we really want to risk the alternative possibility of anthropocentric based global warming.

At the very least, we are now seeing the Northern Ice Cap melting away at unprecedented rates. The melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet and possibly that of Antarctica in the future would raise sea levels by roughly 100 meters.

Other unforeseen risks are the spread and evolution/mutation of pathogenic organisms now confined to remote locations that could result in plagues or worse, pandemic infections.

The truly climatological unthinkable may be just as bad as or worse then a Global Nuclear War and that is the remote possibility of a runaway greenhouse effect. Although once a popular public notion to consider a couple decades or so ago, such an event cannot be entirely ruled out. The result would be the transition of the Earth into a Hellish inferno with Venus like temperatures. This would put the kibosh on all carbon based life forms since the molecules of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, not to mention delicate DNA could not survive or exist in such temperatures. The bodies of all carbon based organisms would simply be incinerated in such heat no matter how tough they are in their natural habitats. This is simply a fact of thermodynamics and chemistry. Do we really want to be careless with mother nature!
